Czy Rohit Sharma i Virat Kohli powinni wycofać się z krykieta testowego? Były Paceer odpowiada

W niedawno zakończonej serii testów przeciwko Nowej Zelandii Rohit Sharma i Virat Kohli zdobyli odpowiednio 91 i 93 runy w sześciu rundach.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s recent struggles with the bat were unexpected for the Indian team. Their recent outings against the Bangladesh and New Zealand series have provided loads of fodder for the critics to vent out their critical opinions. It must be mentioned that Rohit Sharma has gotten a single 50+ score in his last 10 innings. The same goes for Virat Kohli. Looking at their recent struggles with the bat, former Indian pacer, Karsan Ghavri has stated that the star India batters should consider retirement from the longest format if they fail to score big runs.

Rohit Sharma and Kohli should retire: Ghavri

In the recently completed Test series against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scored 91 runs and 93 runs in six innings, respectively.

Definitely, 200 percent yes. They need to score big. If they don’t perform, it’s time for them to call a time on their Test careers. If they don’t perform in Australia, Virat and Rohit should retire. They have done a lot for Indian cricket, but the team needs runs to win. We need to build a team for the future. How long will we keep players who aren’t performing?” Ghavri told The Times of India.

Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli retirement

After winning the prestigious T20 World Cup earlier this year, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from the T20 format, paving the way for the young generation. However, the legendary batters decided to continue playing in the Tests and ODI formats.

With the Australia tour coming up, a lot will depend on both experienced batters as they will look to clinch the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit is expected to miss the opening match of the series. On the other hand, Kohli will be a part of the Indian squad right from the start.
