Nowy pakistański kapitan białej piłki zostanie „odsłonięty” przez szefa PCB o 15:30

Szef Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ogłosi na konferencji prasowej o 15:30 następcę Babara Azama i nowego kapitana drużyny pakistańskiej odpowiedzialnej za grę białą piłką

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi will unveil the side’s new white-ball captain after a long delay. The Men in Green have been without a skipper for ODIs and T20Is following Babar Azam’s decision to step down after the T20 World Cup. Pakistan will announce their new skipper just one day before the team is scheduled to depart to Australia.

New Pakistan captain to be announced on Sunday

As per a PCB media release, the board’s chairman will unveil the new white-ball captain at a press conference at 3.30 PM (local time) in Lahore. On Saturday, Naqvi had said that the “consultation process” for selecting the new skipper was still ongoing and that the best man suited to lead the side will be picked. Pakistan’s next white-ball skipper, who is touted to be Mohammad Rizwan, will have a tall task at hand as the side aims to hit the reset button.

Rizwan emerges as front runner to replace Babar Azam

Mohammad Rizwan is the first in line in contention to replace Babar Azam as the white-ball skipper. While reports had earlier suggested that the keeper-batter has some reservations he would like to express to the board about how captains were treated in the past before he decides on the offer.

Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif took to social media platforms to claim that the decision on Rizwan taking over as captain would be taken in the meeting between the star and PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi.

The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to depart to Australia on October 29, with the ODI series getting underway from November 4 followed by the T20I series from November 14.
