Which city hosted first IPL Auction?
The first-ever IPL auction held way back in 2008 in Mumbai. The bidding event for the inaugural edition of the tournament set the foundation for the grand success of the T20 extravaganza in the years to come.
Former India captain MS Dhoni was the most expensive player of the first auction. He was sold for a whopping USD 1.5 Million to CSK. However, Dhoni wasn’t the first player to be sold in the history of the IPL. The first cricketer to go under the hammer in the history of the league was the legendary Australia wrist spinner, Shane Warne.
