With the election atmosphere heating up this winter in Jharkhand, as assembly elections are in full swing, former Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen at the polling booth today casting his vote. His wife, Sakshi Dhoni, also participated in the voting process. A few weeks ago, the former India captain was appointed as the brand ambassador for the Jharkhand Assembly elections. Also, the Election Commission received Dhoni’s permission to use his photo for promoting the elections.
Since his appointment, he has actively worked to increase voter awareness under the SWEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programme. For just one reaction, fans blocked the booth to catch a glimpse of their favourite cricketer.
