England cricket team batter Ben Duckett has backed the visitors to secure a win in PAK vs ENG 2nd Test despite the ‘surprise changes’ made by the hosts. England were in firm control of the game for more than two sessions before Sajid Khan wreaked havoc towards the end of play.

England’s plans to counter Pakistan in PAK vs ENG 2nd Test

Speaking after the day’s play in Multan, Duckett revealed that the team knew that Pakistan would crumble and that the pressure would be reversed on them. He went on to point out that despite being 1-0 up in the series and winning the previous series against Pakistan 3-0, England won’t settle for anything lesser than another whitewash against PAK.

We know that they can crumble and so the pressure is over to them. We’re 1-0 up in the series, won the last series 3-0 and we know they’re going to fight to make it as hard as they can for us. But we always believe we’re in the game,” Duckett told Sky Sports.

PAK vs ENG 2nd Test: England dominate as Pakistan strike late

After bundling out Pakistan for 366 runs in the 1st innings, England got off to their trademark rapid-fire start. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley ensured a 73-run opening stand before Pakistan found their first breakthrough. Crawley (27) was the first to depart, thanks to Noman Ali and a good review taken by Shan Masood and co. Duckett carried on with his aggressive batting and managed to stitch partnerships with Ollie Pope (29) and Joe Root (34).

Sajid Khan turned out to be a late hero for Pakistan as he delivered a triple strike to dismantle the middle-order in the third session of play. He got rid of Root, Duckett and Brook in quick fashion as England lost wickets in a flurry. Noman Ali struck once again shortly after, sending skipper Ben Stokes (1) packing. At the end of play on Day 2, England trail Pakistan by 127 runs.
