Indie wycofują się z Pucharu Świata T20 kobiet, a Nowa Zelandia pokonuje Pakistan i dociera do półfinału

Nadzieje Indii związane z Pucharem Świata T20 Kobiet w 2024 r. skończyły się, gdy 54-krotne zwycięstwo Nowej Zelandii nad Pakistanem zapewniło Indiom wyjście z turnieju w fazie grupowej.

India’s campaign in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 came to an end on Monday as New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 54 runs, securing a spot in the semifinals. It was just like how the men’s team crashed out of the 2021 T20 World Cup, coming into the tournament as the title favourites, the team couldn’t even reach the semi-finals.

To progress to the next round, New Zealand needed to secure a win against Pakistan. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, they posted a total of 110 runs for six wickets. In response, Pakistan collapsed for just 56 runs, marking its lowest score in T20 World Cup history.

Pakistan’s aggressive strategy backfires

Desperate to reach the semifinals, Pakistan adopted an aggressive strategy from the start, needing to chase down New Zealand’s total in just 10.4 overs. However, this approach proved costly, as the team, led by Fatima Sana, lost wickets consistently throughout the innings.
