The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Women’s Twitter account announced that Harmanpreet has been “rested” due to a “niggle”. Consequently, Smriti Mandhana has been designated with the opportunity to captain the team in the first ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Mandhana, meanwhile, won the toss and elected to bat first in the scorching heat of Ahmedabad.
