If IPL 2025 retentions and RTM is a big question, the bigger question is, whether MS Dhoni play in the tournament next year and how would he be retained by the CSK? For now, no one except for Dhoni himself know about his future plans, TBH, but ex-CSK bowler R Ashwin tried to answer that for the fans.
No wonder, even the best Test bowler struggled to say anything clearly. Speaking on his new Youtube channel ‘Ash Ki Baat’, he said, “What about MS Dhoni. Last year, he scored runs at a strike-rate of 300, so what else about him. I was literally shouting, just looking at him..look we all know he was struggling before this year’s IPL.
“He had a knee injury, and wasn’t batting all that great, but I don’t know what got into him this year, he started playing so well. He would come for four balls, and smash three of them out of the park for sixes, so what do you say.”

For the record, Dhoni played 14 matches in IPL 2024, and produced a memorable season for himself and the CSK fans. He scored 161 runs in all, at an average of 53.67, and a strike-rate of 220.55. To go with that, he also pouched 10 catches.
